Learn to Trust Your Intuition - it’s a powerful tool you have

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 by michaela

The other day I was invited to a girlfriend’s house for lunch. We don’t often get to see each other because of our busy lives, so I was very excited to catch up with her, switch off and get out of the office! When I arrived I was introduced to another friend, also there for lunch. I was in the spirit of having fun, catching up and chatting when I began to see the word ‘forensic’ and ‘policing’ in front of me. These words were coming through loud and clear so assumed  (wrongly as I was to discover) that my new friend was possibly connected with or going to be connected to that industry. To cut a long story short, I kept babbling about forensics, policing, investigations, and the law…

Fast forward to several days later… There I was piling groceries into my car, when my girlfriend called me and said, “Guess what happened to me?” She proceeded to tell me that night after our lunch she hosted a small social gathering with her friends in her backyard. While they were having fun out the back someone smashed through the front door, rummaged through handbags and stole some purses before running off into the night. When this was discovered the alarm was raised and the police called in (lots of policing happening that night). The following morning forensics (the word I saw) turned up to investigate (investigations) further.

When I’m not working, I’m basically switched off, this incident however highlighted to me the importance of noticing messages my intuition is sending me, irrespective of whether I’m working or not. My intuition was giving me information but I wasn’t paying attention to it - it was my day off!!

Intuition is a powerful tool and we all have it. We receive information all the time and sometimes we dismiss it or fail to act on it. Have you ever experienced a time where you ignored your intuition and later regretted it? I can tell you it doesn’t happen to  me very often but it has on the odd occasion such as the other night. In the past when I failed to act on my intuition it cost me both financially and emotionally.

Learn to trust your intuition, take notice of when you’ve acted on it and it’s helped you. Remember the feeling associated with your experience of  following your intuition so you’ll know how to follow it next time. Also take notice of what happens when you don’t follow your instinct. Does it or has it cost you time, money, effort and emotionally?

I’d be very interested to hear if you’ve had similar experiences and how you now use your intuition :)

Good luck with it :)

Hard wire yourself to noticing opportunities - they’re everywhere!

Friday, August 27th, 2010 by michaela

Yes, it’s true! Opportunities abound and are everywhere, all of the time. Sometimes they’re small windows that appear and disappear in the blink of an eye, and other times they’ve been staring at us in the face the whole time. Maybe you’ve even heard yourself say “…why didn’t I see that before? It was staring at me right in the face all along?”  That about sums up when the invisible finally becomes visible.

Mostly we don’t notice opportunities until it’s too late because let’s face it, we’re rushing around and busy doing life or so focused on what’s ahead that we’re not noticing what’s travelling beside us. However once we begin to more consciously watch out for these possibilities, and potentially, productive opportunities… voila … there they are!

Thoughts are energy - so whatever thoughts you send out you’ll receive similar in return - consciously or unconsciously (note: be aware of what you are thinking). This means that if you set your mind and intention for opportunities, you’ll begin to notice them.  When I set an intention I know my unconscious mind will search for, and find it for me.

An example of how energy input/output works is my little story about when I was driving along a busy motorway minding my own business. As I looked in the rearview mirror I noticed a fast car coming up behind me until we were only a very small bumper bar apart (VERY close). I noticed the driver wanted me to go faster (you couldn’t NOT notice, and if you didn’t you should be home in bed), I also noticed cars either side of me so was unable to change lanes. I now had a few choices, either I became as aggressive as him, showed him the bird, slowed down (which NOT recommended and highly dangerous) and annoyed him even more, or started speeding.

There was one choice I wanted to take and that was…..

As I said earlier, thoughts are energy and what you put out you’ll receive back (think input/output). What I did there and then was to immediately centre myself and go into my heart centre (my happy place!) - btw this all happened in a nanosecond in case you were wondering. Anyway, I started to pump OUT the love vibes all around me aimed mostly at the cranky one behind me. Once I did this, and checked in the rearview mirror, I noticed the car had dropped back approximately 20 metres. This happens to me everytime someone starts to tailgate me…and no, I don’t drive like Miss Daisy ;) . This is simply a real life example of what happens when you consciously set an intention.

Then there was the time I told a group of truckies this story; but that’s another story in itself :)

Good luck with hardwiring your mind for opportunities - they’re everywhere :)
